Long before, the government and private entrepreneurs introduced the Golden Kuhol to farmers as a means of livelihood and to enrich the protein source in human diet. Unfortunately, after few years of introduction, it became a major pest in the Philippines. They damage young rice seedlings, causes poor crop stand, yield losses and additional expenses to farmers.

When I was little, my father would bring me to our farm and I helped him by picking the golden kuhol one by one and fed them on ducks.
