Few years back, I had a dream. It was late in the afternoon. I was standing right on this road. I can see the back of our house from afar. I tried to pass through our back fence but I can't. There was a force that tries to stop me. I ended up looking at this crossroad and suddenly I woke up.

Honestly, I have no idea about the name of this flower, its scientific name or the local name. But if you do, please don't forget to mention it on the comment section below.

We have a number of this flowers in the garden. It grows on bulbs and it's very easy to propagate.

When were younger, my sister would pick its flowers and put it on top of her nails. The petals look like artificial nails that are manicured.

When I woke up this morning, I was surprised to see a dragonfly inside my mosquito net. I went outside and released it to greet the morning sunshine! Rainy season has officially begun, I uttered.

I remember when I was in elementary, hundreds of dragonflies were flying around during our flag ceremony. We have to ignore them while singing the national anthem. It was a sight to behold. They were like helicopters scouting the area.

The dragonflies are harmless to humans. You won't feel any terror even if they swarm around your area. They are even helpful because they feed on mosquitoes and flies.

I went to the farm in Daga this morning and was very happy to see these two mushrooms. Unfortunately, these are not edible.

I remember when I was small, after a night of thunderstorms, me and my cousin would visit our Lolo's house and on our way we would look for mushrooms. Mushrooms are common after thunderstorms
and storms in general because of the humidity, most mushrooms need 80% humidity or higher to grow. 1

White Lily Flower

I think 10 years ago I bought a couple of bulbs from a street vendor in Iloilo City. He told me it was a Lily of the Valley. I then hurriedly come home to plant them in a pot. I was so excited knowing that someday I will be able to see the flowers coming from these bulbs! And a few days ago, it never disappoint. I was able to finally see two white flowers blossomed from its stem!

On this very hot summer, one of the best desserts to eat is the Halo-Halo! No wonder a lot of halo-halo vendors are sprouting like mushrooms around. Some vendors serve their halo-halo in a bowl and some are in plastic cups. I favor the practice of serving it in bowls because vendors may save a few pennies which can lower their expenses resulting to higher profits, but at the same time it is more environment friendly. While serving it in the plastic cups is an additional garbage after the customers finished their halo-halo.

While looking at the number of plastic cups on my garbage can, I thought of bringing them home and recycle. Since we have a lot of Gmelina seedlings in our garden I thought of using them as container for the seedlings.

Check the steps below:

1. Collect the plastic cups and wash them with soap and water. Make sure that no food particles and residue are left in the cups as they may attract insects which might be harmful to your seedlings later on.

2. Punch or slice some holes on your cups so that no water will stay on your cup. Without the holes, the seedling may get "drown" and die.

3. Add soil and tree seedlings in your cup.

4. Collect your seedlings and put it on your favorite spot in your garden. Wait until they're ready for planting.

You may also use a San Miguel Beer case to hold the cups. It looks good and provides sturdy support.

Long before, the government and private entrepreneurs introduced the Golden Kuhol to farmers as a means of livelihood and to enrich the protein source in human diet. Unfortunately, after few years of introduction, it became a major pest in the Philippines. They damage young rice seedlings, causes poor crop stand, yield losses and additional expenses to farmers.

When I was little, my father would bring me to our farm and I helped him by picking the golden kuhol one by one and fed them on ducks.

If there's another animal that humans were able to successfully domesticate, aside from the wolves, then that would be the water buffalo, locally known as the carabao. It's amazing how the farmer commands the carabao and performs according to his will. Whether the direction is going straight, left or right, the gentle creature obeys his master, faithfully.

It all began when I decided to go home. I was laid off from my work, my contract on my condo has expired and decided not to renew anymore. On that day, I also decided to give up my tennis commitments and commit myself to my decision. I felt like destiny wants me to go home and start something.

I don't know what it is. But I'll soon find out. I just let it unfold in front of me.
